“You're assuming I care.”
Piercing blue eyes narrowed. “Are you saying you don't?”

It had been 3 years since the Reapers had been defeated. The galaxy was rebuilding. Things were, for the most part, pretty damn peaceful. All because of Shepard. Three years of people adulating the woman he could have had and didn't because he was a stup

If anything, after all those months of non-stop activity ever since her awakening, Shepard had been tired to the very marrow of her bones. Well, that's it if her bones actually still had any marrow in them – she never was perfectly sure, and she was rather afraid of truly looking into the files she downloaded about Project Lazarus when escaping Lazarus station.
The constant arguing with everyone that she i
Their only warning was a scream. It was distant, but long, high-pitched, utterly terrified. Samantha had just sat down to have tea and cakes with her grandmother, but the scream brought her immediately to her feet. Her knee bashed into the coffee table, spilling her cup of tea.
“What the—“
From behind her came a heavy thud. Samantha cast a frightened glance over her shoulder to see a large, dark cloud of… something pressing up against the living room window.
“Samantha…” her grandmother gripped her cane in both hands, trying to rise to her feet. “What’s going on?”
The Collectors,
Two years.
Two years since he’d been rushed into a Normandy escape pod and blasted into space.
Two years since he’d watched that glorious ship explode into pieces across the starry sky, that leviathan of a ship beyond that had taken her down slowly turning and leaving the way it had come.
Two years since he’d received notice in that little hospital that there were only few casualties with the loss of the Normandy. As he flipped through the roster, one name making him pause and stare at the screen, wishing he wasn’t reading it properly.

The SSV Normandy SR-1 was the pride of the Alliance fleet, her revolutionary stealth drive the best-kept secret of two governments, her every bolt and rivet carefully engineered to optimize speed and performance. She was a masterpiece of engineering, she handled like a dream, and Joker suspected he'd never pilot her equal if he lived for a thousand years.
And yet, somehow, in a design process that had undoubtedly been overseen by hundreds of very intelligent people, somebody somewhere had come up with the brilliant idea of putting the medbay right next to the mess hall. Because reconstituted vat protein, complete with real-live artificial
